Distributed Networks of Support

Dear Movers, Clients, Friends:

One of the most poignant things I learned from the planning of my wedding was the potency of holding steadfast to a vision without gripping too tightly. To breathe enough space into my longings and trust my dreams would be met in ways both expected and unexpected, sometimes beyond my wildest imaginings.

Little by little, I was able to soften and LISTEN to the inspiration that came on the wind, through a dear friend's words, or within the soft swirling energy of my heart. Little by little, I was able to experience obstacles and detours as points of REFINEMENT; opportunities to tune into a broader field of intelligence that was guiding me toward greater and greater EASE.

Each request for support or invitation for someone to offer their gifts began to weave a distributed network that was aligned with my vision, but alive in it's agency to shape and create something beautiful. Beyond my prayers and offerings to the unseen, it was the commitment of each individual to actively participate in what was unfolding...to bring their creative touch or word or artistry in service to the broader Vision that shaped one of the most magical spaces and experiences of my life!

I share this with you because I am in a similar place with our group dance spaces; holding a Vision that is dear, but acknowledging the need for a wider network of support to both shape what is emerging and tend it's aliveness.

Nearly every day I hear the call for a consistently held conscious dance space. Message after message in my inbox expresses the longing to be in practice together, to turn to the medicine of movement to digest all we're experiencing, to grow in our capacity to be in relationship with one another, to deepen our sense of belonging, here, in these times. I hear the call. Feel a strong urge to respond. And know:

This is a dance WE need to dance together.

In some ways, this is a call to action. Not out of urgency, but reflection. So I invite you to PAUSE. Settle into the present moment. And ask yourself if you wish to become part of a distributed network of support, where we each inhabit a place within this shared ecosystem called Rooted and Rising, and tend the field of aliveness together, creating islands of coherence where our collective gifts can be given and received.

I will happily continue to facilitate a movement practice inspired by the Open Floor, Dancing Freedom, Authentic Movement, or the moving breathing tides of life that emerge. What I ask you to consider is:

*Where might your gifts shine?
*What do you enjoy tending?
*Which place in the ecosystem do you find the most enjoyment?

How might you tend the field with me and become part of an emerging distributed network? Some potential starting points, where support is needed are:

EARTH (Production) - tend the ground on which we dance by helping me anchor a "home" where we can practice (indoors or out); organize, set up and take down the space; invite and welcome movers in.

WATER (Networking) - tend the relational field by sharing this work with other communities, bringing a friend or warmly connecting with a new dancer. While the dance is a powerful personal practice, the medicine of communal healing amplifies with each participant present!

FIRE (Nourishment) - tend the hearth fire by committing to showing up, dancing your dance, and being in practice with one another with an open and malleable heart. Feel the pulse of the community, what’s wanted/needed, and express those desires openly and honestly with me so it can become part of what we’re co.creating.

AIR (Marketing) - tend the social sphere by sharing your voice and experiences via social media; communicate, invite and manage event listings via FB; organize and manage any community building that may be desired before, after, or outside of the dance.

ETHER (Visioning) - tend the third body of Rooted and Rising by joining me in Council 1/month to move, include, and listen to the collective intelligence around the vision of Rooted and Rising. *I will be reaching out to 5 people directly - a mix of mentors, fellow facilitators, community members, and system thinkers to support me in getting CLEAR on the vision that most serves now.

One of my teachers, Steve Hoskinson, always reminds us that "The job is Enjoyment." So, as you consider if and how you'd like to play a part in this distributed network, follow what feels enjoyable...easeful...or delightful.

If you are unable to participate at this time - or life is simply too full - remember to keep listening for the inspiration on the wind...to follow what generates joy...and rest in a broader field of intelligence, whenever and however you can.

I will keep reminding myself to do the same.

Love, Teresa
